People who live on North Topsail Island are advised to stock up on bottled water for Tuesday night.
Onslow Water and Sewer Authority says they plan to have low to no water pressure in the area of Island Drive South in Tuesday between 9 p.m. and 6 Wednesday morning.
Officials said there is a chance bacteria can get into the water in that time frame, so customers should boil all water used for at least one minute.
ONWASA said any water used for teeth-brushing, bathing, or washing dishes should be boiled or customers can opt for bottled water.
Officials said water pressure should be back to normal by Wednesday morning.
