The fire was reported around 2:50 a.m. on Freedom Way in Hubert.
Five volunteer fire departments from Onslow and Carteret counties responded.
Fire Marshal Brian Kelly said they are asking anyone with information on the fire to contact Crimestoppers. He said obtaining information through Crimestoppers is not meant to imply any possible cause.
The value of the house was listed at $69,100.
