Almost $160,000 in counterfeit merchandise and drugs were seized in an A.L.E. raid of nine Jacksonville businesses Wednesday.
Many of the businesses were tobacco shops, while the others were convenience stores.
The state Alcohol Law Enforcement Division spearheaded the investigation which resulted in the search for counterfeit goods and urine test dilutes being sold.
A.L.E. says approximately $15,000 in cash was also seized.
Four people were taken into custody for narcotic violations and felony trademark infringement violations. Additional charges are forthcoming, according to police.
Those arrested were:
Ebrahim Al-Shugaa, 33, a manager of the Eagle Express was charged with possession with intent of sell counterfeit merchandise, sell and possess for sell drug screening adulterates.
Sam Al Merisi, 23, an employee of Tobacco City was charged with possession with intent of sell counterfeit merchandise, possession of more than 100 audio visual and sound recording, and sell and possess for sell drug screening adulterates.
Amin Khulaqi, 31, an employee at Tobacco City was charged with possession of a schedule 1 controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school, sell and possess for sell drug screening adulterates, felony manufacturing of Cathinone, maintain a store to keep and store Cathinone "Khat", felony possession of Cathinone, and possess with intent of sell counterfeit merchandise,
Saleh Mohamed-Obad Al-Khulaqi, 33, and employee at Y & S Tobacco Outlet was charged with possession of a schedule 1 controlled substance within 100 feet of a school, possess with intent of sell counterfeit merchandise, sell and possess for sell drug screening adulterates, maintain a store to keep and store Cathinone "Khat", felony possession of Cathinone, felony possession with intent to manufacture Cathinone, trafficking in Cathinone, and trafficking by possession of Cathinone.
