A meeting about possibly replacing a popular bridge in Surf City will be held Tuesday.
The NCDOT will be holding the public meeting regarding the proposed replacement of the Topsail Island Bridge on NC 50/210 in Surf City.
This is one of two bridges that provide access to Topsail Island.
The DOT says the Topsail Island Bridge was built in the 1950s and is due for replacement.
The transportation company also says the proposed new bridge will have wider travel lanes that improves traffic flow and include access for pedestrians and bicycles.
The public can listen in and offer their opinion about the proposed project from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Topsail Island Moose Lodge.
