Move In Day For Onslow County Justice Complex, Sort Of

One local sheriff's department is finally moving in to a new building. But there's still a hold up on part of the move.

The dedication of the Onslow County Justice Complex was this past June-- but this week, the administration staff at the sheriff's department got the official certificate of occupancy from the city.

While boxes and hand trucks are on the move-- prisoners are not.

Until prisoners can be moved in, Onslow County is paying to house inmates in other jails around the east.

County officials say the holdup is because of the smoke evacuation system that has to meet state code first.

There's no date for when prisoners may move in.
