A 25-year-old active duty marine is seriously injured after he wrecked his pickup truck in Onslow County. That man is facing multiple charges including DWI.
According to troopers the wreck happened just after 12 a.m. on Sunday in the Hubert area near Sand Ridge Road and Crown Point Road.
They say Patrick Williams was traveling west on Crown Point Road when he lost control of his vehicle and went off to the left and hit a pine tree. Williams was trapped in the truck for 30 to 45 minutes. Fire officials had to use extrication equipment to get him out. He was then airlifted to Vidant Medical Center.
Troopers say alcohol was involved. Williams is charged with DWI, driving while license revoked, careless and reckless driving, no registration or insurance. Troopers say Williams license was already suspended for prior DWI.
