The District Attorney' office said he started his active duty sentence following the Thursday morning conviction.
The District Attorney's office in Onslow County said Thursday 49-year-old was sentenced to a minimum of 15, maximum of 19 years of active prison time.
Officials said Joyner stabbed his brother, Keith Joyner ,in the stomach on December 3rd, of 2011 with a large blade knife.
