July Busiest Month In Two-Years For Onslow Salvation Army

The Salvation Army in Onslow County says this July has been their busiest month when it comes to providing food for people.

Shelves are bare at the Jacksonville Salvation Army food pantry that feeds people in Onslow and Jones counties.

The Salvation Army says this July has been their busiest month in two years by feeding more than 230 families with over $20,000 worth of food.

If families qualify to receive food from the pantry then Joshua Rahn and others who work at the Salvation Army put together bags for each family. "I build the bags based on the size of the family with the basic necessities, the fruits and vegetables, the cereals and a couple extra treats if we have them."

Rahn says that if you would like to help by donating food you can drop it off at their Bell Fork location in Jacksonville.
