Jacksonville Shooting Suspect Nabbed In Wilson

A man wanted for shooting a Jacksonville man has been arrested in Wilson.

Demetrius Elliot, Jr. was arrested by Wilson's Special Response Team today. He is accused of shooting Tiaseer Rambert on Elm Street Monday night and Jacksonville police say he was found with the help of Wilson police and the SBI.

Rambert was shot several times and is recovering at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Police have not released any motive in the shooting.

Jacksonville police say they are searching for 21-year-old Demetrius Elliott, Jr. He's wanted for the Monday night shooting in the Davis St. area of Jacksonville.

While police won't release the name of the victim, relatives say 36-year-old Tiaseer Rambert is in stable condition at Onslow Memorial Hospital. They say he was shot outside of a home in the area of Davis and Elm Streets around 8:24 p.m.

Elliott is considered armed and dangerous. The public is cautioned not to approach this subject and, if seen, to call 911 with any information about his location.

The search is on for a gunman in Jacksonville after a shooting Monday night.

Police say the shooting was reported at 8:24 p.m. in the area of Davis and Elm Streets. A man was standing outside of a residence when he was shot several times, according to police. The shooting victim was transported to Onslow Memorial in critical condition.

Police believe the unknown gunman ran towards Davis and River Streets.

While police won't release the name of the victim, relatives say 36-year-old Tiaseer Rambert is in stable condition at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Witnesses say it happened at 500 Elm Street. One witness said his girlfriend pulled up with their baby when two men ran across his yard.

That witness said he hurried his family inside as the victim was shot. The resident of 500 Elm Street said the victim was struck on the hood of his vehicle, which had just been parked. Witnesses say the shooter simply walked away.
