Jacksonville officials say they are making holiday changes in the sanitation schedule to better serve the city's customers.
Tuesday, December 27, is a city holiday. But instead of taking that day off, sanitation workers will take off Friday, December 23.
The city council approved the change so crews will work in days after Christmas, when collection levels are high.
According to the city, depending on where you live, your trash, recycling and yard waste days will change. Yard waste will be collected the week of December 19 and January 2, but will not be collected in the heavy trash week after Christmas, December 26.
You can check out the schedules on the city's website and on its Facebook page. If you are signed up for Connect-CTY, you will get phone calls about the schedule.
