Jacksonville drivers will hopefully see shorter lines at the local Division of Motor Vehicles as it extends its hours starting this weekend.
The NCDMV will launch expanded hours at eight more driver license offices from the mountains to the coast starting Saturday, May 4th. The Jacksonville office will be open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon and, beginning on Monday, May 6, also for an additional hour Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
NCDMV first began expanded hours March 2nd in Greenville, North Raleigh, and West Charlotte. Offices in South Fayetteville, South Durham and North Charlotte were added April 6th. As a result of Saturday hours at these six offices, DMV has completed over 2,000 issuances during March and April.
Most regular driver license services, including regular road tests, will be offered on Saturdays.
