A couple of apartment complexes in Jacksonville are cracking down on pet owners who don't pick up after their pooches in a high-tech way--using DNA.
On Saturday, a company called Poo Prints took DNA samples from dogs at the Reserve and Legacy apartment complexes by swabbing their mouths.
That information will be stored in a database so when a dog leaves a mess behind and the owner doesn't clean it up, it can be tracked back to the irresponsible dog owner.
Residents will face a hefty fine for their first infraction: $250.00.
