Local airports like those in Greenville and Jacksonville were full of Thanksgiving travelers Wednesday.
At the Pitt-Greenville airport, officials say every seat on all five flights scheduled for Wednesday were sold out.
The recently renovated airport offered plenty of space to handle the larger numbers of travelers. Passengers we spoke with said that capacity wasn't a concern for them, but that the weather was.
Only two flights are scheduled for Thursday before the airport shuts down in the early afternoon. Officials say they will resume a normal schedule on Friday, and expect a very busy weekend as holiday travelers return home.
Wednesday was also a busy day at Albert J. Ellis airport in Jacksonville. Officials there expect up to 7,000 travelers in and out of the airport this Thanksgiving.
