Gas At $3.54 A Gallon In Jacksonville

Three hours of cheap gasoline has caused one convenience store in Eastern Carolina to become a very popular stop Friday afternoon.

The Circle K on Highway 17 south of Jacksonville, across from the Air Station, has regular gas for $3.54 a gallon. That's about 20 cents cheaper than competing locations.

The convenience store is only offering the discount until 7:00 p.m. as part of its remodel welcome to customers. When our reporter was there just after 5:00 p.m. every pump was full.

If $3.54 per gallon is cheap, we need to vote for a new president in November that has a plan to lower the price of gasoline.

Ours is 3.81/gal, and that used to be the cheapest place to get gas. It was comparable to Washington. Haven't been there in a week, so I don't know if it still applies.

Gas was not that cheap when President Obama took office. And when gas is $3.85 a gallon, yes $3.54 is consider cheap. Idiots blame everything on President Obama. Get a life.

Did that, it was at $1.60 gal the last 2 months of Bush terms, the remainder of his 94 months it peaked at $4.89 per gal. You forgot to mention that.

May 15, 2008— While many people were shocked at $3 a gallon, they were not prepared for what was about to happen as prices shot up to nearly $4 a gallon. Public hysteria sets in as consumers begin using Gas Buddy to find the lowest gas prices in town.

Gasoline averaged $2.50 per gallon over the eight years that Bush was president. Evidently you are a new driver that wasn't filling up their tank during the Bush years.

Gasoline sold in $2.00 to $3.00 range for most of the Bush years. That was the good old days. Maybe in November we will have a new president that will lower the price of gasoline for middle class Americans.

That's not too much of a savings. Probably burn your savings waiting in line for it! Not worth the hassle.
  • by bunch of sheep on Mar 16, 2012 at 02:55 PM
And therein lies the problem: 3.54 is NOT CHEAP GAS. But, the powers that may be have been training the sheep in this country for the last 4 years that a price like that is ACCEPTABLE. It's not. Not when 25% of peoples paycheck goes to and from work. Would someone have been shot if gas was 3.29, which it was less than 5 MONTHS AGO???? It's one big game, and the consumers in this country are the pawns.

Exactly right! I remember when a friend of mine had an Exxon station and received a call from Exxon asking him if his pumps would register $3.00 a gal.. Mind you, this was when gas was $.78 agallon!! I was there! This was planned years ago by big oil, and there is nothing we can do about it, because Americans just won`t stick together any more, so shut up and pay up.

Actually gas stations normally don't make a profit off of the gas sold and if they do its very small.

Gas stations on average make only 5-10 cent per gallon. Now if you actually did a little reading and were educated you might know that. As for being an Obama lover, I have voted republican my entire life. But hey if it makes you and idiot feel better name calling go right ahead, just shows your lack of maturity and education.
