A man who served his community as a volunteer rescue squad member is now facing charges of stealing from that squad by using its gas card.
Records show 26-year-old Kevin Bell of Onslow County was arrested this week and charged with identity theft and financial card fraud.
Chief Patricia Doyle at the Richlands Volunteer Rescue Squad told WITN that Bell was a volunteer member of their squad on May 8th of this year. That is when Chief Doyle said it was discovered Bell had been stealing gas by using the squad's card.
Online court calendars show Bell is due to face four felony charges of identity theft and four misdemeanor charges of financial card fraud in court on Thursday.
Jail records show Bell posted bail by Thursday morning.
