Food Drive Underway For Jacksonville Food Bank

With resources running low at the Food Bank of Eastern and Central Carolina, The Salvation Army in Jacksonville is in desperate need of food for its food pantry.

A food drive started Wednesday at the Wal Mart off Highway 17 in Jacksonville and will continue through Friday.

The Salvation Army says this year they will feed nearly 12,000 people with $250,000 worth of food.

Food bank coordinator Joshua Rahn says they are in need of the basics, "Fruits and veggies, canned of course, spaghetti sauce, macaroni and cheese and any type of boxed meals and baby food, diapers as well. Those are a great need right now.
