Fog is causing trouble for drivers, and there have been multiple wrecks in the Swansboro/Bear Creek area of Onslow County.
As of 8:45 a.m., traffic on Highway 24 eastbound is backed up near Swansboro after two military vehicles crashed into each other. One person was hurt, according to troopers, but the severity of the injury is not known right now. Crews are working to clear the military vehicle off the highway.
Another wreck is under investigation on Belgrade Swansboro Road at Sloan Road. Troopers say one car ran into another, pushing it into the ditch.
Around 6:30 a.m., two separate accidents happened in the same location just minutes apart. A pickup truck ran off the road in Bear Creek, drove through a big fence and hit several cars inside Odum's Towing Salvage on Queens Creek Road. Another car ran into the ditch and hit the same fence.
Visibilities are improving across the area. A dense fog advisory expired at 9 a.m.
