Donations For Jacksonville Cookie Drop Are Down

A holiday tradition for our local chapter of the USO is in jeopardy.

Typically by now pool tables at the USO in Jacksonville are filled to overflowing with fresh, home-baked cookies for the annual cookie drop. This year, the donations are down drastically.

Volunteers make the cookie drop on Christmas day- delivering the treats for those Marines working on base.

The USO will be taking cookie donations until Friday morning when they'll start packing for distribution.

The phone number for the USO IS 910-455-3411.

Don't worry about Mike everyone knows that he is green and that his heart is three sizes to small..But I do wish that more cookies come in as those Marines are far from home and are willing to fight and so times die for this great land of ours

On a lighter level, I do agree with Mike. This is not that big or desperate of a story.
