Dozens came together in Onslow County Thursday night to remember the people who have lost their lives in the past year as a result of domestic violence.
Every year the Onslow Women's Center holds a vigil to remember the men and women across the state who have died because of domestic violence.
People from across the community lit candles, prayed, and told stories to honor the victims.
One of the victims who was honored was Jessica Hart-Hall. The 22-year-old and her husband were found dead on Hargett Street Tuesday. Police say her husband Jeremy Hall shot her, and then himself.
Fifty-one tee-shirts were hung up at Riverwalk Park in Jacksonville to represent those who died. Shoes were also laid out for the victims.
The mission at the Onlsow Women's Center is to try and stop domestic violence.
