Two high school students have been charged with making a false bomb threat to get out of class.
Onslow County deputies have charged Devonte Ledbetter and Manual Majia, both of Jacksonville, with making a false bomb threat and felony conspiracy.
Deputies say the bomb threat was phoned in around 10:10 a.m. last Thursday to White Oak High School, saying the bomb would go off at 11:00 a.m. Students were evacuated from the buildings and lawmen and school personnel searched for any sign of explosives.
One of the two students arrested told deputies the threat was made because he didn't want to go to his third period class.
Majia was released to his mother, while Ledbetter was let out of jail on a $7,500 bond.
