Part of a busy street in Jacksonville was closed Wednesday after heavy rains apparently caused a cave-in.
Several lanes of Onslow Drive in Jacksonville were shut down because of the cave-in of the street. The hole is in front of the bus station, just off Highway 17 Business.
The city says several vehicles were damaged when they drove over the area as it was happening. The hole in the street is less that three-feet wide.
Authorities believe heavy rains caused an underground water line to break, eating away the ground under the street.
The city says so far four drivers have filed claims with them because of damage to their vehicles.
