UPDATE: Bicyclist Struck By Vehicle In Onslow County Has Died

A bicyclist who was injured in a collision in Snead's Ferry last weekend has died. Kenneth Batts, 60, of Surf City was flown to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington on Sunday morning after being hit coming off the high rise bridge from North Topsail Beach. Officials say Batts died yesterday afternoon at the hospital.

A Sneads Ferry man, 65-year-old Robert Hoffman so far faces an unsafe movement violation. Troopers say those charges are pending, and they anticipate more charges in light of Batts' death.

According to troopers it happened near the intersection of NC 210 and North Shore Drive just before 11 a.m.
