Troopers Call Off Search For Pedestrian Hit By Car

The Highway Patrol says it has called off the search for a person reportedly hit by a car after not finding the accident scene.

Dispatchers say they received a call around 4:45 a.m. that a person was hit by a car on Rocky Run Rd. in the Piney Green area of Onslow County. However, the trooper never found any evidence of an accident there. As of 6:30 a.m. Thursday, the search had been called off.

We asked the Highway Patrol who called the accident in, and they told us Onlsow County officials reported it to them. They also said fire and rescue crews from Onslow County also were unable to find any accident.

Highway Patrol Dispatchers say they have a trooper headed to Rocky Run Road in the Piney Green area of Onslow County, after they got a report that a person had been hit by a car.

As of 6 a.m., dispatchers said the trooper had not located the accident yet. The accident was reported around 4:45 a.m.
