Smoke filled up a drive through window tube at a local bank, forcing a precautionary evacuation.
Fire Chief Bob Penrod with the Swansboro Fire Department tells WITN it was a likely a small motor in a drive-through tube that prompted a precautionary evacuation of a local credit union.
The Marine Federal Credit Union on West Corbett Avenue in Swansboro was evacuated shortly after one of their drive-thorough tubes filled up with smoke at 9:32 Monday morning.
That lane of the drive-through will be closed until credit union maintenance crews can fix it. The bank was operational within 45 minutes.
Emergency management officials said smoke was coming from a Marine Federal Credit union.
Onslow County Emergency management officials said smoke was coming from the Marine Federal Credit Union in Swansboro around 9:30A.M. on Monday. That is on W. Corbett Avenue.
EMS Director, Norman Bryson, said Swansboro Fire Department responded to the call, and other fire crews have been cancelled.
Witnesses tell WITN police and fire crews have areas around the credit union blocked off.
No word on any injuries or building damage.
