23-year-old Andrew Fetters is behind bars in the Onslow County Jail. Court records show he was arrested Saturday after he tried to shoot a woman while she attempted to run away from him in Jacksonville.
Warrants show Fetters called for a friend to come pick him up from a home on New River Drive on Saturday. After he got into a white, Chevy Trailblazer, police said he drove to the 200-block of New River Drive where he spotted the victim. Warrants show as the victim tried to run from Fetters on foot, he got out of the vehicle, took a shooting stance, and fired a nine millimeter rifle. His shot missed the intended victim, but went through a wall at 256 New River Drive in Jacksonville.
Warrants said Fetters is charged with attempted murder, going armed to the terror of people and assault by pointing a gun.
