A Swansboro man is accused of breaking into a home and assaulting the homeowner with a shotgun.
Derek Ka'ai was arrested today in charges of felony breaking and entering, felony conspiracy to break and enter and felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Deputies say the assault and break-in happened December 17th. Andrew Daley was treated for a fractured nose and numerous cuts and abrasions to his head and face by the attack.
Ka'ai is being held on a $32,000 secured bond and deputies say additional arrests are forthcoming.
