Update: 73 Year Old Charged With Shooting

According to Jacksonville Police Department, around 4:30 p.m. Friday evening, Jacksonville Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired at 1633 Robinson Drive in the New River community.

Police say the suspect, Clyde Swain, age 73, was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and possession of a weapon by convicted felon. Swain was locked up under a $20,000 secured bond.

Police say the victim is Kenneth Wayne Miller, 61, of Pine Street.

Miller was transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was subsequently transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital were police say he was last listed in fair condition.
