Authorities in Onlsow County this morning were searching for a Marine who possibly had a grenade launcher in his car. Camp Lejeune now says the grenade launcher has been located.
Sheriff Ed Brown confirms that his deputies, Jacksonville police and military police were looking for the Marine. Brown says the young PFC was allowed to check out the grenade launcher and that the base could not find him.
There was a regional police broadcast issued for law enforcement officers to be on the lookout for the Marine's vehicle, but that BOLO was cancelled around 11:25 a.m.
Camp Lejeune said the Marine was located on base, but didn't say how long the grenade launcher was missing.
