Marines Bringing Out The Big Guns

The Marines are bringing their big guns to Fort Bragg.

Base officials said starting Monday Marines from Camp Lejeune will be shooting up two dozen 155 mm howitzers at Fort Bragg. Residents near the massive Army base in central North Carolina should expect loud explosions and echoes upon detonation. Officials apologized for the noise, but stressed the need to train around the clock. The Marines will be firing their guns at night and in bad weather.

The training exercise is part of the Marines' annual spring artillery training.

I served with 10th Marines as a cannoneer, and I enjoyed my time there. Fort Bragg training allowed us to take off the gloves and fire in a more realistic manner. Get Some, Uhhhhraaaa!

More imperialism and american militarism being glorified. Apparently there are no noise restrictions down there as there are in my adopted home state-The Nation's Most Military Unfriendly State-California.
