Jacksonville City Council To Vote On Sales Tax Resolution

Jacksonville's city council will vote Tuesday on whether to support the Onslow County Commissioner's request to put a quarter-cent sales tax increase on the ballot.

The Onslow County Commissioners say revenues from the sales tax increase would go towards public education, public safety and decreasing property taxes.

Onslow County wants the referendum to go to the voters on May 4, which is the primary election day across the state.

Onslow County voters rejecte the same sales tax increase in May and November in 2008.

I think voting will be the best way to come up with the right decision.
