As snow threatens our coastline, Jacksonville crews were out making sure the roads you travel on are safe.
Crews with the Department of Transportation spent Thursday night and much of Friday spraying major highways with a salt brine solution.
The brine keeps snow and ice from sticking to the roads.
Officials say despite getting only a few real winter weather threats a year, they're not missing any key equipment to get the job done.
They've actually had to use their snow plows this year during the past two winter storms to help clear some secondary roads.
DOT officials say crews will be working throughout the night monitoring the roadways.
