Convenience Store Worker Facing Charges

A convenience store worker in Onslow County is facing 16 counts of stealing from work.

Twenty-year-old Christina Twigg of King George Court in Jacksonville is accused of ripping off the convenience stores she worked at.

Deputies say she rang up false returns when she worked alone, totaling more than $1,100 in a little less than a month's time.

Shlonson: That is a very ignorant comment. There are many single working mothers that do not steal. There are also many that pay for child care. Did your mother neglect you or something? I think you have issues.

Before I read the article, I knew the thief was a woman. Most likely a single mom, pocketing cash for her booze/pot binges with "bad boys" while her kid sits in the back of the '91 Buick out in the parking lot.

I don't think stealing is what the owner ment when he said, "All employees will get discounts." I think he was refering to reduced prices on the potted meat and sanitary napkins.

to continue...Wilco/Hess policy is that only manager/asst manager are the only 2 that can do returns. Its a good policy but customers don't seem to get it. Management is not there 24/7 and once the items walk out the door, there is no return or exchange. If policy was printed on receipts there would not be any more issue period. It would only take a couple of weeks if all people would work in that type of environment to understand.

Ok, if the manager did not notice this within a day or 2 I hope he/she gets fired. Theft does hurt the stores bottom line and thats when prices increase somewhat. I hope she did not work for Wilco/Hess because then alot of heads would roll and for good reason (this time). Did she honestly think she could get away with not being noticed?
