Sheriff: Wife Shoots Husband After Being Threatened

A dispute between a husband and wife lands one in the hospital after being shot.

The Onslow County Sheriff's Office says it happened in Sneads Ferry around 2:30 in the morning.

Deputies say the husband had threatened his wife with a shotgun at which time the wife then shot her husband once in the chest.

He was taken to New Hanover Regional Hospital and is currently recovering. No names or charges have been released at this time.

I taught my sister to shoot when she was in high school. I taught my daughter to shoot last summer. I intend on teaching my granddaughter to shoot when she's old enough. If more women would arm themselves, we'd see domestic violence plummet in this country. Men who abuse women are cowards, bullies, and thugs, and only understand one thing... To quote the great Samuel Colt, "Be not afraid of any man, No matter what his size, When danger threatens, call on me, And I will Equalize."

Good for her! Don't point a gun unless you intend to use it. He found out this the hard way.

IF this turns out to be legit, then good for her. It is amazing that dems claim to be defenders of womens rights but they would disarm every woman and make them completely defenseless in todays world. Just like Greenville/Wilson/Farmville/Ayden area McDonalds that have banned law abiding citizens, this includes women that have violent boyfriends or spouses from being able to defend themselves and their children in these restaurants. This is a disgraceful thing to do and does nothing but promote violence against women. I am amazed that some local womens organization has not spoken out against creating a environment that women are helpless victims. They should be protesting these McDonalds and every other place that restricts these womens RIGHTS to protect themselves like this women did.

The moron got what was coming to him. If this were my girl and he husband treated her like that she knows how to use a gun I trained her properly. All dads need to teach their girls how to defend themselves. Too many idiots who like to hurt their little girls.
