Christmas is a little brighter for some Marine families in the east.
Hundreds of cars lined the streets at Onslow Beach at Camp Lejeune this morning as many Christmas trees were handed out to Marine families.
More than a thousand trees were given out on a first come first served basis.
About 25 volunteers with the Christmas Spirit Foundation helped hand out the live trees to what event organizers say was more people than ever.
Event organizers say the received 750 trees last year and are happy to see donations increase.
