Tarawa Terrace Homes Come Crumbling Down

A little piece of military housing history came crumbling down at Camp Lejeune Thursday.

The very last set of 1950's era homes were demolished and a military family that lived in the homes in the 1950's took part in the demolition celebration.

The Short Family called Tarawa Terrace home from 1954 to 1959.

Thursday they were back, and behind the wheel of a bulldozer to take down the last set of these old homes.

166 new modern, and green, military homes will now be built where the 50 year old homes once stood.
