Fire Destroys Duplex, Damages Two Other Units

Authorities are looking into what started a fire at a duplex in Onslow County around midnight Sunday.

Officials say the fire broke out at a duplex on Live Oak Court.

Fire departments from Hubert, Piney Green, Pumpkin Center and White Oak all responded to the blaze.

Authorities say all three people in the duplex got out okay, though one resident was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

One duplex is declared a total loss, while the other one and an adjacent unit were also damaged.

Thank God no one was killed! Thank God for the neighbors that saw the fire and knocked on the door and woke the people up that were asleep in that unit that is a goner! Now, curious as to what started the fire since it was not believed to be a fireplace or cigarettes?! God Bless the Red Cross people that handed out the vouchers to all the people in all 3-4 homes that can't return to their homes due to the damages to their homes too! Thoughts & Prayers with the victims and all their losses...well it is horrible that they lost all material objects, and I don't mean to belittle that, thank God for their lives at this point! That is the second fire on this street in the last 2 years. The last one started in a kitchen due to wiring, and so word of mouth said.
