Camp Lejeune Marine Dies In Afghanistan

A Camp Lejeune Marine is the latest casualty in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon says Lance Corporal Jordan Chrobot of Frederick, Maryland died Saturday in the Helmand province.

The 24-year-old was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment at Camp Lejeune.

Chrobot deployed to Iraq from October 2007 to May 2008, and to Afghanistan in May 2009.

The Marine Corps says his awards include the Combat Action Ribbon, Iraqi Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and a Certificate of Commendation.

Lance Cpl. Chrobot is survived by his wife, who is 23-years-old.
