Guilty of manslaughter..it's how a former Camp Lejeune Marine pleaded Monday.
The Jacksonville Daily News reports 24 year old Adrian Reza was sentenced to 2 and a half years in prison after he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, hit-and-run and reckless driving in the June 21, 2008, death of Jonathan Sather.
Authorities say Sather was riding his bicycle with a friend along the roadway when a car hit Sather, sending his body over the Northeast Creek Bridge and into the water.
The paper reports Reza was originally charged with driving while impaired, but prosecutors dropped the charge because Reza left the scene and wasn't taken into custody until hours later.
20 year old Salvador Hernandez was reportedly with Reza at the time of the accident, his case hasn't been presented to a grand jury yet.
