Dead Cat Found In Onslow County Man's Mailbox

Authorities in the east are investigating an incident involving a dead cat put in a mans mail box.

The Onslow County Sheriffs Department responded to the 2200 block of NC 172 in Snead's Ferry around 10am Saturday morning.

A lawman spoke with the victim who said that he had found the dead cat in his mailbox wrapped in a t-shirt.

Painted on the t-shirt was an expletive and the word narc.

The victim said told deputies he has no idea who could have been responsible and that he had just moved into the trailer.

good point, mullet. all you animal rights do-gooders...what about rats and mice. they're animals too, but i'll bet you poison them if they get into your house. what about deer? they are very VERY destructive! or a snake in the yard? i'll move it to safety, but i'll bet most 'animal lovers' wouldn't. the only true animal lover i know is the ancient chinese philosopher who would walk in the grass, not on the stone walkway, to avoid accidentally stepping on an ant.

It's funny to see some people's reactions to certain comments. I'd put my two cents in it, but for what...to be criticized for my own opinion. Well I'm going to comment anyways... It was very wrong to kill the cat, it was very wrong to put it in the guy's mailbox, and I hope the stupid guys are caught. So there.

John, you are one extremely insensitive person, how ever I do agree the cat could have been a road kill.

im sorry but jim and jonhs comments were just plain mean! what him/her did to that poor helpless cat was probably just sick! god only knows what that cat went through, but what most people suspect is probably very close to what happened to that poor cat! and jim: animals kinda have rights too! and jonh if it was your best friend i doubt you would feel the same way you do now!

Has anyone even considered that the cat may have already been dead after being hit by a car or something? Smart people....always jumping to conclusions about something and plus it was only a cat! Its not like it was a person. Im sure it wasnt as cute as the one in this picture. MAybe someone did kill it. One less stray to get into everyones trash!

I do not condone punishing a poor and defenseless animal for any reason, and I do not know all the facts in this particular case. However, I do support tougher laws for animal owners. My yard is not your animal's playground or bathroom. Everyone does not share your vision of animal rights. Keep them at home! I don't believe an animal lover would want me to come into your greatroom and in front of your big screen TV and deficate on your floor. Non-animal owners have rights too. Respect my rights and I will respect yours. Thank you.
