Free Food Handed Out In Jacksonville

Hundreds of people lined up in Jacksonville Thursday morning hoping to take home some free food.

It's all part of the food pantry program that aims to help the needy the first Thursday of the month at New Beginnings Church on Bell Fork Road.

Dozens of people took home fruits, veggies and bread.

Organizers say there are no strings attached to get the food, you just have to be hungry. Last month the pantry served over 1,100 people.

The food is sent to Jacksonville from the food bank in Greenville.
