Many local businesses spent Thursday morning cleaning up after the flooding rains Wednesday in Jacksonville.
There was still standing water in many places, but no roads were impassable Thursday.
One of the hardest hit areas and one prone to flooding is at the intersection of Brynn Marr Road and Western Boulevard. Jacksonville public works says all the drains are working fine across the city -- but much of the storm water flows thru that area to get to a big drainage system at Highway 24.
Public works director Grant Sparks says besides cleaning the drains, there's not much more they can do that wouldn't be terribly expensive.
Sparks says crews clean storm drains often, but also rely on the public to keep them clear of debris in their neighborhoods.
