The state announced Tuesday afternoon it will not seek the death penalty against an Onslow County man accused of killing 43 year old Vickie Lewis

54 year old Albert Bedford was in court this afternoon, where he is charged with an open count of murder, in the death of his lover last year.

Lewis had been missing for weeks when they found her body buried in the backyard of one of Bedford's relative.

In court, Bedford entered a plea of not guilty to the murder charge.

Both the prosecution and the defense agreed they may be ready to proceed with this trial in about 60 days.

Why is the court not following the word. The bible say "thy shall not kill if you do you die by 12 of your peers." What's the hold up?

In my opinion is that everyone on e death row should be hanged by the neck at sunrise. Black, White, Hispanic, of any other ethnic group. Doesn't matter. Rope is one size fits all.Clean house and save some tax dollars.
