Two More Camp Lejeune Marines Killed In Afghanistan

The Pentagon says two more Camp Lejeune Marines have died in fighting in Afghanistan.

Master Sergeant Jerome Hatfield of Axton, Virginia and Lance Corporal Pedro Barbozaflores of Glendale, California died Saturday during combat operations in Helmand province.

The two were assigned to the 2nd Light Armored Recon Battalion at Camp Lejeune.

Hatfield was the company operations chief for Delta Company. He joined the Marine Corps June 1991 and was promoted to the rank of master sergeant in September 2007.

Barbozaflores was a light armored vehicle crewman, joining the Marine Corps in March 2008. He was promoted to the rank of lance corporal Dec. 2008 and deployed to Afghanistan in June.
