There's new information on a deadly wreck in Onslow County that closed down a 5-lane highway for several hours Monday.
State troopers say 59-year-old Frederick Sloan of Chinquapin was killed in that crash. The wreck happened around 11:30 a.m. on Highway 258 & 24 near Pony Farm Road.
The Highway Patrol says an eastbound truck crossed the center line, causing five other vehicles to crash into one another in the westbound lanes. One of those vehicles was a log truck.
Troopers say the wreck remains under investigation and charges are pending against the driver of the truck.

Three other people were hurt in the crash. Two were taken to Onslow Memorial, while the third was flown to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
The busy highway between Jacksonville and Richlands was shut down for more than three hours because of the accident.
