Deputies a homeowner's son thwarted a break-in Monday morning, and wounded one of the suspects in the process.
Onslow County deputies say it happened around 1:00 a.m. on Crows Nest Lane in Sneads Ferry.
Deputies say Joseph Green, who was an invited guest to the home, became very violent and the owner had to put him out by force.
Some 20 minutes later, deputies say Green returned with four friends. They say the group tried to kick in the door and then tried to break out some windows. Deputies say Landon Crews was inside with his mother and he warned the group several times he had a gun. Some of those were overheard as his mother was calling 911.
Crews told deputies he shot once at someone who was coming into the house through a broken window. Deputies say Cyle Norris was shot in the right forearm from a 12 gauge shotgun.
Green, Norris, along with Trevor Sturgis and David Sonye are all charged with first degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and felony conspiracy. Deputies say other charges are pending.
