Homeowner's Son Shoots Break-In Suspect

Deputies a homeowner's son thwarted a break-in Monday morning, and wounded one of the suspects in the process.

Onslow County deputies say it happened around 1:00 a.m. on Crows Nest Lane in Sneads Ferry.

Deputies say Joseph Green, who was an invited guest to the home, became very violent and the owner had to put him out by force.

Some 20 minutes later, deputies say Green returned with four friends. They say the group tried to kick in the door and then tried to break out some windows. Deputies say Landon Crews was inside with his mother and he warned the group several times he had a gun. Some of those were overheard as his mother was calling 911.

Crews told deputies he shot once at someone who was coming into the house through a broken window. Deputies say Cyle Norris was shot in the right forearm from a 12 gauge shotgun.

Green, Norris, along with Trevor Sturgis and David Sonye are all charged with first degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and felony conspiracy. Deputies say other charges are pending.

I would like to say, way to go Landon. You are the man for what you did. These four punks need to be shipped off to Iraq and then we'll see how violent they get. I bet they will calm down quick. Hey Ace, my idea of gun control is a firm grip. Hey Jake, and that idiot lawyer that would claim such a thing should not even have a license to practive law or else be banned from his bar license. I would like for Barack to find out about this and realize that guns can be used for PROTECTION, not for just killing people to kill them. To Bob, if they charged him, then I would then like to see that somebody out of their curent position. This guy does NOT deserve to be charged with ANYTHING.

You guys are a bunch of "haters", these nice folk were going to Landon's house for a tupperware party at One in the Morning, and he over-reacted with a violent outrage. Now these nice young fellows will need physchiatric care to restore thier faith in humanity. . .Back to reality - WAY TO GO Landon, Protect you Mom and property. However I do believe there is more to this story. Buzz-

Mr. Crews, good show. Looks to me like you took the only option you had left, and came out on top. WITN: My hat is off to you for running this story. Typically, stories that tell of an armed citizen defeating a criminal are ignored by the media. Thank you.
