"Semper Ride"

The Marines Corps is offering specialized motorcycle training to Marines as the service tries to curb the rising number of fatal accidents.

The Second Marine Expeditionary Force on Thursday is hosting the all-day Motorsports Safety Fair at the Goettge Memorial Field House.

The fair will include the premiere of a motorcycle safety film called "Semper Ride." The film was developed for the Marine Corps motorcycle safety program.

Since 2004, Marine Corps motorcycle-related deaths have risen every year.

I think motorcycles are really cool..from a safe distance. The best rider in the world can still have some idiot in a car run into him, and the human body has little hope against an automobile...helmet notwithstanding. Call me chicken if you wish, but I prefer to remain alive...and ambulatory.
