Onslow County Commissioners could vote to increase property taxes for residents by 8.7 cents. That increase would bring Onslow County's tax rate to 59 cents per hundred dollars of assessed value.
Interim County Manager David Smitherman told the Jacksonville Daily News that an 8.7 cent increase is lower than the commissioners anticipated proposing, after expecting to need a double digit increase.
