More Eastern Carolina Marines Arrive In Afghanistan To Fight Taliban

Some North Carolina-based Marines headed to Afghanistan to stop a resurgent Taliban have arrived.

Brig. Gen. Larry Nicholson took control of Task Force Leatherneck's area of operations Saturday during a ceremony in Helmand province.

The Marines are part of a surge of forces to Afghanistan. The unit last deployed to Iraq in 2003.

About 8,000 Marines, some from North Carolina's Camp Lejeune, will be followed by an Army brigade, totaling about 4,000 troops, and 5,000 support forces.

I really believe the word "fight" is used wrong. These guys have weapons but there are so many restriction they are sent there just to get killed.

Where is the Domocratic Liberal Obama loving Media now? Like they bashed Pres. Bush for Iraq? I will ask there favorite question. How many of these good Marines are going to have to weaste there young lives for Obama's War. Obama has to keep the war going it help saves his dying economy. At the cost of American lives. God speed Marines come home safe & unhurt.

All you anti Bush people that raised ---- about being in Iraq aren't saying anything about obama placing MORE troops in Afghanistan. Why is that? We were fighting terrorists then, so what's the difference? I think its because you're just like your man; a double-talking, go with the leftist groups kind of person. Think you may be able to decide on something and STICK with it? Try it one time.
