Murder Trial Of Former Marine Underway

Witness testimony began Thursday in the trial of a former Marine accused of killing his girlfriend.

Jacksonville police say Michael Wolfe drowned Lakeesha Glover on March 10, 2007. Authorties say she was found face down in her bathtub. Her head was under 8 inches of water. It happened at Phoenix Park apartments off Gum Branch road in Jacksonville.

Glover was the mother of Valerie Stevens grandchild. Stevens says, "Keesha was a loving young lady whose life was taken at a very young age and now two girls are without a mother."

Glover, who was a teaching assistant in the Onslow County school system, left a toddler and two girls behind.

Wolfe is charged with first-degree murder. The trial is expected to last through the end of next week.
