Child Rapist to Be Placed on Parole

A man senteced to life in prison in 1987 for raping a 4 year old boy may be on the streets as soon as monday.

According to the Jacksonville Daily News 51-year-old Randolph Rael was sent to prison for crimes against nature, taking indecent liberties with a child, and first degree sex offense. He is currently in the Buncombe correctional center in asheville.

Rael was granted parole recently. The Office of Onslow County Chief Assistant District Attorney Ernie Lee was alerted to Rael's upcoming release. Lee says he has concerns for the safety of the public, particularly children, when sexual offenders are released.

Rael will be under the supervision of a parole officer through the division of community corrections.

What in the world are they thinking by letting this creep out on parole? Thank goodness I dont have any children this creep can be around!!! It would not be a good day for him if he had of touched any child I know!!! They wouldnt have to worry about putting him back in jail!! I would handle it myself. The justice system is were screwed!! Were better off handling it ourselves!!

With the way congress and our justice system is working, do any of you get the feeling your hands are tied behind your back and your feet tangled in a rope?

I wonder if any one who granted this MONSTER parole has a Child. Come on ppl- he raped a 4 year old boy! Why would anyone in their right mind allow this MONSTER to go free? This is a Pedoplie and according to the APA there is no cure for pedophiles. The system bites and I wish someone would write the goverernor and get her to overturn this realease!! I pray for this child who is now a man and his family- this is a tragedy. This man is the reason our children are not safe in their own homes.. everyone sitting on the parole board, you ppl make me sick and I can only Pray for each one of you also!!

There are ways to deal with people like him...But there are to many lawyers out there seeing this guy as a bank-roll or as great publicity. In the mean time I have to think twice when my kids go ride thier bikes.... I think we need to invoke Regulation 7.62

WITN, NC no longer has parole, it's called supervised release and he will probably only be "supervised" for 9 months, thats usually the max...

These people should never ever be released. There is no cure and they cannot be rehabilitated.

I am just shocked. This man ruined someones life. He should not have the priviledge to get out and do it again. Just because he will be supervised does not mean he is safe to come back to society. The only reason he has been successful in prison is because there were no children around for him to force himself on. If he was given a life sentence then he should do life. He should not even have had the luxury of a parole hearing.

This is an example of this wonderful criminal justice system we have. Sentenced to life in prison in 1987 and already getting out! A lot people that set on jury duty don't realize that when they sentence a person to life, they will be out just about as soon as they get in. And people wonderful why people keep offending. People get mad at the chief and sheriff ... this story shows that it isn't the law enforcement agencies that put the offenders back on the street, it's the "Justice System" itself! If he re-offends, the people that let him out should be punished the same as him ... oh, nevermind, he want be punished either!
